Can I volunteer?

New volunteers are welcomed periodically as our community needs grow and change. If you are interested please email info@jacobswell.ca to request an application form.

Can I move to Vancouver to join your community?

No. We believe this way of life can happen anywhere you live. We encourage you to find like minded people in your home town.

Where do you get your funding?

As a community we share our lives in common with each other. This means sharing our clothing, house wares, vehicles, and homes. From time to time we have a need that no one person within our community can meet. When we have a specific need that someone outside of our community can contribute to, we will list it here. Check back to see what we need on a monthly basis.

If you live in the Vancouver area and have something to give away please contact Gather and Give by phoning 604.637.2250 or email info@gatherandgive.org.

Financial Needs

We practice faith and prayer with regard to our financial needs. Our financial support each month comes from our team, individuals who believe in our community and its values, some churches, and a few businesses. We welcome people to share in this part of our life together.

We are a registered charity and we do issue income tax receipts.

To make a donation you can send a cheque or money order to:
239 Main St.
Vancouver , BC
V6A 2S7

Or donate online by visiting www.canadahelps.org.

What do you DO at Jacob’s Well?

We do life with people, whatever that requires. We take people to doctors appointments, sit by their bedside when they are sick or dying, make music together, play games, drink tea in one another’s home, have parties, cook together, etc. We are relationally driven rather than program oriented.

Can I bring a team?

Typical missions trips do not fit well with who we are. However, we offer "immersion learning" in which students look at the differences between justice and mercy from a biblical viewpoint. Groups of 8 or less are welcomed to apply to join us for a week of study. Please contact info@jacobswell.ca for more details.

Are you hiring?

Being on staff with us has little to do with getting paid, and everything to do with levels of responsibility and relationship. Accordingly we tend to staff from within our Jacob’s Well community.

Are you a registered charity?

Yes. We issue income tax receipts for all giving. Our BN# is 884667916-RR0001.

When can I drop by to see what you are doing?

In order to effectively continue our work it is important that we don’t have visitors on an ongoing basis. Check out events for upcoming opportunities to enter our community.

Who runs Jacob’s Well?

A competent staff, board of directors, several interns, and many volunteers create a thriving community at Jacob’s Well. Currently Sharon Smith is the executive director.

Can I donate second hand items?
